Road Works Update
Starting tomorrow (Thursday 4th Jan 2018) there will be temporary closure of the footpath on the south side of Ash Lodge Drive at the western end of the site. This is to enable the construction of a dropped curb that will allow access to the new delivery area that has been created.
This closure will be for Thursday / Friday and Saturday morning, there will be no road closures or traffic lights needed for this. They will be surfacing the dropped curb on Saturday morning so there will be tarmac delivery vehicles and rollers on site early morning.
Please can you avoid parking in this area for the next few days to enable the developers to complete this work.
There will be an need for a full road closure in the near future. This is to allow connection to the sewer and cannot be done under traffic light control as the sewer is in the middle of the road. No dates or length of time are available yet but it will go up in the new site notice board and be posted here as soon as I have details.

Foot Path Diversion
There is now a slight diversion in place for the foot path running from Ash Lodge Drive to the old railway. The diversion is where the road will cross the foot path and just deviates slightly to the west before returning to the original line. From a distance it looks like the path is closed but it is to remain open.
This diversion is to enable a plant crossing to be created, during the day there will be a dedicated member of site staff at the crossing who will open and close the site gates to allow you to cross safely. As visibility of the footpath is good they should be able to hold up any plant crossing if they see any walkers approaching. If it does need be closed it will only be for a few minutes. Please take notice of the site staff who are there to ensure your safety.
Site Water
There has been some concern about the water collecting in the site, at the north east corner near the footpath connecting to Ash Lodge Drive, and will it get into the nearby back gardens. The current site level is at least a foot below the original site and ths is a low point in the site. There is very little chance of the water breaching the site but as a precaution the current bund will be extended along the side of the footpath to ensure the water is contained. In the unlikely event that the water looks like it might breach this then there are other plans to divert water to the ditch by the foot path.</>

As some of you may be aware Bewley Homes / a2dominion are proposing a change to the approved development in Ash Lodge Drive. They are sending out a letter to over 1800 residents which you should receive by Monday 13th November.
The proposed changes are
- A reduction in the number of 4 & 5 bed properties
- An increase in the number of 2 & 3 bed properties
- An overall increase in the total number of properties to 492 (from 400)
- Increased space for the proposed Health Centre
At the moment there is very little further information as to exactly what or where the changes will be made on the site so we cannot make any comments as to what our response will be. Indeed Bewley Homes and a2dominion will have to submit a new Planning Application to Guildford Borough Council.
Bewley Homes / a2dominion have created a website (www.ashdevelopment.co.uk) with an overview of the changes where you can view and comment on the proposed changes. You are asked if could submit your thoughts by 1/12/2017. If you have any issues accessing their website, you can contact the Bewley Homes / a2dominion team by calling 0800 019 2205 or by emailing info@ashlodgedrive.com.

Work is now well under way with the drainage ditch and tree / hedgerow removal. Most of the over-site where the road will be constructed has been cleared and moved to other areas of the site. This is mainly topsoil and will be re-used on site for landscaping and gardens etc as the development progresses.
The foundations for a road have been laid, this is expected to progress this week and is believed to be a temporary road that will be used until the proper road and changes to Ash Lodge Drive are constructed.
